Quick update
I've been very busy DIYing and also boxing - I joined a Fitbox class in the City last week so I can go after work. I've been really enjoying it even though I am feeling it so badly.
I spent all afternoon yesterday at my sewing machine trying to figure out how to make the Laptop case I wanted, sans sewing pattern or instructions. I knew what materials I wanted to use and quickly found exact matches when I walked into Lincraft on Saturday. I walked over to Spotlight to pick out the right thread, zip and find something to use as sufficient padding/protection.
It actually didn't take me that long - The sewing is a little dodgy and the case is slightly too tight at the bottom but I love the colours and am totally impressed with myself.

Indulgence
I'm feeling a little over indulgent today. Perhaps it is because I have just bought myself a flash new Laptop - and have Alexa Chung as my background.
On Tuesday night, disaster finally struck - my long-time Laptop crashed. I knew it was coming, we had been together for about 5-6 years. I had been working him too hard recently and I guess he just decided it was time. Good timing though, the Bastard didn't even give me time to back up any of my stuff!

I'm actually about to walk over to Spotlight to pick up some things so I can make myself a laptop case/sleeve. I got some fabulous materials yesterday while I was in the city with my friend Tash. I found the most perfect Electric Blue and also some zebra print for the inside lining. I'm going to have a busy afternoon.
I was a little inspired by the feeling of indulgence so I decided to create another Polyvore set.

DIY!
For those of you who are very fashion consious and/or follow a lot of the big named fashion bloggers, you will have already seen The Glamourai talking about the Celine clutches here
Inspired by how simple, chic and fashionable they look, I decided to take a crack at making something similar. Now, obviously mine is not going to look as expensive and professional as the Celine but I took the look and created it into something that can translate into middle-class fashion budgets and then I added a little twist with the cute lining.
I ventured over to my local Spotlight this morning and picked out a few things. I only got half a meter or fabric because I wasn't sure how much or how many I would end up making - I still have tons of fabric left. Luckily, I found some great ends and leftovers in a sale bin. Total:$9.50

I finished this in one afternoon. I've never sewn a zip onto anything before but I did it successfully!
