Summer Lovin'

Though the weather hasn't exactly been showing it, it is summer.
Sandals, Shorts, Sunnies, Splashing and finally being able to order that iced mocha you've been wanting all year.
Summer, for me, also brings the feeling of excitement, love and freedom. It makes me feel like I should be out dancing and having a good time with my friends every night.

Long weekend

In anticipation of my long weekend in Sydney, I have planned a few outfits and things I need to take with me, based on what I will be doing and the horrendous weather they have been having etc etc.

Left to Right: Target T-Shirt, High top Converse, Target Sandals, Kmart T-Shirt, Supre Skulls Scarf, Eat Pray Love,
Lee Jeans, Bonds Underwear, Body mist, Sunglasses, Papaw Ointment, Nivea Moisturiser, Cotton On Skirt, Seafolly Swimwear Top, Target Swimwear Bottoms, Cotton On Watch, Valley Markets Necklace, Socks

I'll need a Jacket of some kind as well but that is something I have no energy to pick out, nor am I in the mood.

I just want to eat a million Snickers bars and fall asleep in bed with Carrie, Charlotte, Samantha and Miranda. AKA - My best friends

p.s. Madda that is your body mist - I was using it for visual effect.

Tin Spaghetti

Sometimes all you need for a satisfying meal is a tin of spaghetti on the couch. After spending all day moving, cleaning and polishing furniture and hunting for cardboard boxes at the supermarket (with intervals of Sex and the City screenings) all I needed was the yellow tin of Maggi's Spaghetti with Extra Cheese Sauce.

Some of the better meals my friends and I have had recently:

I've begun (and almost finished) packing up my room into boxes. McHandsomepants and I have been accepted for a lovely unit close to the city - with blue feature walls. We sign the lease on Monday and get the keys on the 6th (a little inconvenient since I work all week - but, exciting nonetheless).

My pile of old issues of Russh and Frankie that I rediscovered (and dusted) today:

I think it's time for another Sex and the City screening in my bedroom.

Saint Vs. Sinner

I feel like a sinner when I don't post for so long. I do sincerely appologise (Caitlin)- I've been busy being completely consumed with apartment hunting! Yes, I am moving out of home. My darling boyfriend asked me (only) a week ago and I have spent every night of the past week searching for the perfect Pad.

Wish us luck.

This is basically what I wore to my first workshop involved in my Business traineeship, except my flannel is better and my black skirt is not patterned.

Quickly - Speaking of Polyvore, suddenly over night one of my creations went from four views to 29! error or excitement?

Got a special early mark today (I love those) and headed to the City and bought two CD's; Band of Horses - Infinite Arms and Kings of Leon - Come around Sundown which is playing right this minute. I'm liking it so far....probably loving it, if I dare say.

Sunday Picnic

Brisbane from Mount Coot-tha

On Sunday, McHandsome pants and I decided to go for a little picnic. We don't do a lot of things like this, so it was nice to take a drive and discover new places. We decided on Mount Nebo, Jolly's Lookout - I don't remember how - We initially got lost and did a loop around Mount Coot-tha and had to go back to find the right turn off.

It's quite nice at Mount Nebo. A bit of a drive but the views are wonderful.
We stopped in at Coles and decided to get some fruit, biscuits, Jatz and 'fancy cheese' as we call it :P

and ofcourse, I took my satchel! :D

Sunday, October 24, 2010

It's storming outside and all I want to do is lie in bed with McHandsomepants while watching Mad Men season 1 (I only started watching this today), but he has already left.

Another weekend over, another week begins.

of intense love for my new satchel - see two posts ago - As I expected there would be. So much more amazing in real life.

Content, sitting on the couch with my new satchel.

Take me home

Russh October November issue 36.

I've been feeling a lot lately like I just want to be at home all the time and although I do still live at home, I work full time and spend my weekends with my boyfriend. I get up at 6:30am and get home at 6pm. I need a holiday and I have never felt this feeling more in my life.
It's starting to shine outside and I can hear Stradbroke and Bryon Bay calling my name.

I'm thinking of going to Sydney for a weekend in early December to see my oldest, bestest pal. Friends for eight years. Sometimes we don't talk for as long as eight months but as soon as we pick up the phone, we are right where we left off. I love her and undoubtedly, she loves me too. I'm her 'drug'.

Her words, not mine.

what is wrong with you?

It's October, which means its spring here in Australia. For the past week it has been pouring torrential rain and today, finally some much needed sunshine! It's still a little chilly this month. This is what I wish I was wearing.

And yes, I am obsessed with those boots.

I've seen many a blogger use this site and after much confusion, I finally got it! I did this one really quickly. I think I'm addicted.

Flashing Lights

It's Tax time here in Australia! I had so many ideas about what I wanted to spend my return on; Sewing Machine, Camera, Video Camera, Clothes, New Watch etc etc. But I stuck with the camera idea. My friend and I are (/might be) working on a little project that will require video footage. My web cam is dodgy, my current camera is like 6 megapixels -read: so five years ago- and I wanted the option to be able to view the footage as I filmed it. Video cameras are expensive and although you now can flip the screens and take still shots with camcorders, I would feel silly holding a giant video camera just to take a simple shot. Plus, this project may not develop into anything. So, you see my little dilemma.

Solution: Samsung PL101

So far I'm pretty impressed. You will be able to judge for yourself when I upload my first photos from it.

Do you remember

I just watched this beautiful video over at The Filippa. Her best friend sent it to her with the message 'I Love You'.

It makes me miss having a best friend.

I still miss her and I think about the little things she used to do. I dream about her too.
It's my fault though, I couldn't handle it and she didn't understand.

First for everything

I got my first Parking fine last night :D Go me! I was heading out to see a friend a popular Wednesday night spot and parked around the back between some cars, only to discover upon my return, it had magically turned into a taxi line up. Fined $100. Shit!

Threadless part 2

So, I told you guys about my Threadless order awhile ago. And here they are:

This guy is my favourite. In his laser eye/glasses(?) it says 'Electric'. Wicked

I was really worried while pulling the first one over my head for the first time, that they would be a little to small but they actually fit, like perfectly. I was half expecting them to be slightly baggy on me, since I've been buying baggy tops a lot but these are a firm fit and you can see all of my lovely/not so lovely lady lumps.

You can have whatever you like.

Yes! Yes, I certainly can. As long as my budget allows for it, which it has in the past couple of weeks. I went shopping, a lot! This is what happens when your boyfriend works weekends and your a loner ( I do have friends I swear. They are at the coast/studying/obsessed with their new girlfriend/fiance). Anyway, so I picked up some things mostly from Target and Cotton On and I also have some online purchases (next post). All really well priced/cheap! This is going to be a long haul, so be prepared.

p.s. Sorry in advance for the shit picture quality. My camera batteries died and mum took her camera to some family reunion today and I pressed something on my HTC to make the quality blurry and I couldn't fix it.

So, I actually got this hat on Ebay. It is the closest thing I could find to the hat I posted here. I also wore it here. I love it so much, I think it is absolutely adorable. It was just over $30 for the hat and postage within Australia.

Just a nice basic singlet from Kmart. I love the colour which you probably can't see properly - $12

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this necklace. I got it from Diva for about $30 but I think I'm going to wear it so much this summer even with basic casual outfits to spruce them up a bit.

Top from Target for $15 odd. It actually gets tighter around the hips and is quite long.

These are from Cotton On, and I paid $5(each) for these. I originally just picked up the Khaki on and then saw the Pearl one and had to get both. These are extra long! They are long enough to be a dress, even on me (I'm 6'3"). The fabric is so light which makes them great for summer! I was wearing the Khaki one open over some basic blacks yesterday and it looked great. You could even wear it just over your swimsuit going to the beach with some nice sandals!

I got this one from Target for $13 odd. I LOVE IT. The fabric is so light. I got it one size larger then my regular size and it just is so great! I can't even tell you. You can also see it here. It's already dirty, but I had to take a picture anyway. Oops!

I got these in Myer for $55. They are actually mid thigh shorts but I was so frustrated with all the khaki shorts being too tight on my thighs and way to short. So I got these from the larger ladies section and have just rolled up the legs. They are pretty comfy, elastic waste and draw string! The Large ladies know their comfort!

So, I thought I had gotten everything photographed, then I remembered all of these...
I got these 3/4 crop pants from Katies for $32. I got a discount cause I joined the Katies club! They are also sending me a $10 voucher, YAY. These are SO comfortable. Even my boyfriend, upon feeling the fabric, said they would be great for summer!

Now, I already do have a black maxi from Supre, but the fabric is way to heavy and the spaghetti straps don't suit my shoulders. So, i picked this one up from Target for $29. Light fabric, wide strap, razor back and even a little pocket on the front - cute. Maxi's are never long enough on me because I'm so tall, so I just have to get used to the fact that no maxi will ever hit the floor on me. At least it won't get dirty, I guess.

I already have one of these skirts but I had to buy another one because I wear it like 90% of the time and I don't ever want to let it go. I picked it up from Cotton On for $10 (originally $20- Yay sales).

These are just some bike shorts from Target, I got them for $11 odd, on sale from $15. I'm actually going to wear them under some of my shorter dresses this summer for a little extra protection/comfort. I think it's a great idea! and it actually does look really cute.

I got this idea from a 13y.o blogger - Maya Ravn - from Copenhagen (I think she got it from someone else too). She is the cutest thing EVER and has a great sense of style. You probably can't tell from the pick what it looks like so see below.

OH! and this ring I got from Sportsgirl for about $10-$15
